MBAN workshop on mortgage credits

MORTGAGE Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN) will tomorrow hold its workshop on packaging and processing conforming mortgage credits, which is targeted at employees of the Primary Mortgage Institutions (PMIs). The event will be staged at the La Cour Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The workshop is expected to improve and sharpen the skills of employees of loan originating institutions in the modified format for processing and packaging of National Housing Funds (NHF) applications. It would also enhance the speed in obtaining approvals for NHF applications packaged to the Federal Mortgage bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and funds disbursement to beneficiaries. The workshop will also expose and equip participants with the required techniques for in-dept analysis in mortgage loan origination, monitoring and control.

Among the facilitators for the programme are chairman, Fortune Ebie and Company, Mr. S.P.O. Fortune Ebie, FMBNs Assistant General Manager (NHF Loans), Hadjia Shakirat Oyawoye, President Option One Homes Nigeria Limited, Mr. Biodun Adeniji and managing partner, Balogun Majekodunmi & Biachi, Mr. N.O. Balogun.

According to MBANs Executive Secretary, Mr. Kayode Omotoso, the workshop is part of programmes to prepare mortgage operators for the emergence of the secondary mortgage market in the country, a transformation process that would require increasingly high levels of skills and sophistication.
