My name is Emeka Okafor, and I’ve spent over 20 years working in the iGaming and sports betting industry here in Nigeria. I started my career in the early 2000s, back when sports betting was still in its infancy, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing it grow into a multi-billion-naira industry. Over the years, I’ve helped launch and manage online sports betting platforms, introduced mobile apps, integrated virtual sports, and even worked on crypto sports betting solutions.
One of my proudest achievements was leading the development of a football sports betting platform that reached over half a million active users in Nigeria. I’ve also worked with international betting brands, helping them understand the Nigerian market, from local payment systems like Opay and Quickteller to the importance of football in our betting culture.
Today, I continue to consult, mentor young professionals, and speak at gaming conferences across Africa. My passion has always been the same – building platforms that are fair, secure, and exciting for players, while pushing the industry forward.
